Company story

I-Commerce, together with parent company KE Systems (established 1988), has over three decades of experience in enterprise solutions for financial institutions across Asia.

The company developed core business systems for major clients before transitioning application ownership to their in-house development teams. I-Commerce continues to serve these long-standing relationships as their Rocket Software and UniVerse specialist, providing product reselling, database maintenance and version-upgrade services for the infrastructure layer these systems depend on.

Lee Boon Kok re-elected as PIKOM Treasurer

At its 16th Annual General Meeting, the Association of the Computer and Multimedia Industry Malaysia (PIKOM) pledged to do more during its 2002/2003 term to help bridge the digital divide within Malaysia's underprivileged community.

The association had begun running an ICT training centre in Petaling Jaya, providing free training to orphans and senior citizens. PIKOM chairman Looi Kien Leong said the initiative would help participants secure employment more easily. The centre occupied the top floor of a new two-storey community centre on land donated by the Petaling Jaya Municipal Council; the council undertook development with financial assistance from PIKOM, and the centre was furnished with 20 to 30 computers, with trainers drawn from PIKOM member companies.

PIKOM also introduced new special interest groups during the term, including one for disaster recovery and business continuity.

At the AGM, Lee Boon Kok, executive director of KE Systems Sdn Bhd, retained his position as Treasurer through a contested election.
